Jacobs was productive early in his career thanks to his ability to avoid tackles. In three of his first four seasons, he earned 0.26 avoided tackles per attempt or better on over 200 attempts. Over the last six seasons, James Conner is the only other running back to accomplish that more than once.

He finished eighth in fantasy points per game for a running back, as well as eighth in touches per game for a running back. He scored one rushing touchdown over the first seven games and 14 rushing touchdowns over the last 10 games.

Jacobs played 62.5% of offensive snaps last season, which is a notable decrease from his time with the Las Vegas Raiders. While there is a chance MarShawn Lloyd carves out a significant role this season, it could largely be at the expense of other running backs, unless Lloyd can outplay Jacobs.
